Silly Woman, Nasty Women
This vase is a modern interpretation of ancient life and an ode to Aristophanes’ Lysistrata through the eyes of a modern reader. One side celebrates the true Lysistrata: a strong feminist icon and OG nasty woman. The more satiric flip side sees two ancient women engaged in comically exaggerated dialogue, which nevertheless echoes conversations women have had since Aristophanes and beyond.
